Pork Shoulder or Pork Butt3 pounds

Paprika1 tablespoon
Garlic Powder1 tablespoon
Onion Powder1 tablespoon
Ground Cumin1 tablespoon
Dried Oregano1 teaspoon
Chili Powder1 teaspoon
Salt1 teaspoon
Black Pepper1/2 teaspoon
Chicken or Vegetable Broth1 cup
Instructions
- 1Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) or preheat your slow cooker/crockpot to the low setting.
- 2In a small bowl, combine the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, ground cumin, dried oregano, chili powder, salt, and black pepper to create a spice rub.
- 3Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder, ensuring it is evenly coated.
- 4Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the pork shoulder on all sides until browned.
- 5If using an oven, place the seared pork shoulder in a roasting pan or Dutch oven. If using a slow cooker/crockpot, transfer the pork shoulder directly to the pot.
